| If you'd like to play Lance's Survivor Pick'Em, the first step is to create a login ID. You can do this by clicking on the "Sign me up" link in the upper left corner of the main page. You are brought to a form which first asks you for your username and password. The username is the name you will use to log into the site. You will be the only one that sees this name, so you can choose something easy to remember and type. It must also be unique, so if you get an error saying the username already exists, please choose another. You are also required to enter a password. See the question on lost passwords: you want to use a password you can remember! You are asked to confirm the password to avoid typos at this point. The next section of the form asks for a nickname. This is the name which will appear to other users on the system, so feel free to choose a clever name here. Next, you are asked for an e-mail address. This e-mail address should be your real e-mail address as it is used for important messages and things like password resets. If you are concerned with privacy and receiving a lot of mail, YOU have control over whether you receive e-mail notifications and whether your e-mail address is visible on the site (see the next few questions) so you should not be concerned about entering this information. The last piece of critical information is whether or not you will be "cheating" at the game. "Cheating" is fine as long as you declare it--you will simply be compared against other players that are also "cheating". "Cheating" is defined as using sources of information other than watching the actual show and the official CBS website for intelligence.
